NYSC: 39 Companies Scale Bidding Process for 2016

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has conducted its final financial bidding for award of contracts for the procurement of various items for 2016.
Out of a total of 215 bidders who started the race, only 39 scaled through the process.
Director of Procurement, Yakubu Jok, who represented the NYSC Director General, Gen. SZ Kazaure, said the exercise was conducted in strict compliance with the Procurement Act and in line with the principles of transparency, accountability and fairness.

He commended the contractors for promptly responding to their calls any time they were invited and for supplying the service with quality products all the time.

He reiterated that the NYSC would not compromise quality at any time and urged all intending contractors to always procure good quality products.

Secretary, Tenders Board, Alhaji Bawa Abubakar, who read out all the bids in the presence of all the vendors, explained that some bidders were disqualified because they forwarded blank bids which had no amount attached to them.

In his contribution, Engr. Salisu Aminu Mohammed of the BPP, said all the technicalities and the rules have been observed to the letter in the current exercise and called on contractors to always strive to do the right thing at all times, if they must scale the process.
