INEC Dissociates Self From Fake Online Recruitment
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Augusta C. Ogakwu, and issued this Monday 29, June 2017.
The Commission described such advertisement as false and disassociated itself, saying “there is no general recruitment currently going on”, and that “the only vacancies for which the Commission invited interested persons to apply were that of the Director, Research and Documentation as well as that of Assistant Director, Library, both for the Electoral Institute; and for which adverts were carried on the Commission’s website and three other national dailies”.
The Commission maintained that in line with its ethical practice all advertisements for general recruitment would be duly advertised on its website www.inecnigeria.org and national dailies, as the need arises.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has noticed with dismay that some unscrupulous online websites have published that the Commission is recruiting all categories of staff and inviting unsuspecting members of the public to apply.
The Commission wishes to disassociate itself from such publications and to categorically state there is no general recruitment currently going on. The only vacancies for which the Commission invited interested persons to apply, were that of the Director, Research and Documentation as well as that of the Assistant Director, Library, both for the Electoral Institute; and for which adverts were carried on the Commission’s website and three national dailies.
Members of the public are therefore advised to ignore those websites advertising non-existing vacancies and also note that whenever the Commission is embarking on general recruitment, such vacancies would be published on our website: – www.inecnigeria.org and national dailies.
