The Federal Character Commission (FCC) and frontline IT Company, Pyrich Global Limited, have agreed to jointly train Desk Officers of all federal government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) on the correct format and processes of forwarding their Nominal Rolls online.

The Acting Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Shettima Bukar Abba, made this known at a press briefing in Abuja.

According to him, the compulsory training programme scheduled to hold between October 14th and 24th at Chams City Hotel, Abuja aims at teaching Desk Officers how to update their nominal rolls in real time and on a monthly basis using the Commission’s portal.

Abba said the problems of incomplete or late nominal roll submissions has made it impossible for the Commission to advise MDAs or the Presidency on how to go about employing workers or appointing public servants in the way and manner the Federal Character Commission laws prescribe.

He, however, stressed that the training programme will avail the Commission the opportunity to begin the accumulation of valuable data which will enable it proffer relevant advice to MDAs in order to address the problem of lopsidedness in federal appointments and recruitments.

He said: “I want to say that this training programme will avail us opportunity to get a direct statistics of what is required to address lopsidedness in federal appointments.

“The training of Desk Officers is very important because we also want to have a uniform format of receiving the nominal rolls from them through our own portal.”
