Ughievwen: Our Heritage and Prospects

The Ughievwen kingdom is among the children of Urhobo located in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State Nigeria headed by the 'Ovie'.

Otughievwen community is regarded as the centre of the kingdom and it includes many communities and town: Okwagbe Water side and Okwagbe Inland, Oginibo, Imode, Eyara, Owahwa, Okwemor, Egbo-Ideh, Ophorigbala, Esaba and others.

Major development of infrastructure is still lacking in the area despite the presence of the largest gas plant in Africa located in Otu-Jeremi with nothing to show.

Ughievwen land need tertiary institutions, state-of-the art hospital, good road network, seaport, stadium, airport and industries to boost the economic lives of the people and for them to enjoy the dividends of democracy and the impact of the state oil wealth.
