EFCC Nabs Vigilante Commandant for Alleged N449.5m Fraud

The Economics and Financial Crime Commission has arrested Mr. George Mbessey for alleged diversion of public funds and abuse of office worth N449.5 million.

The suspect, who is the commandant of the Vigilante Group in Benue state was arrested today in Makurdi and he has put in custody of the commission office pending when investigations will commence.

According to EFCC spokesman, the commission will investigate the allegation in details and will be tried in a court of law.
