2023 Nigeria Population and Housing Census (PHC)

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Population Commission (NPC) will be conducting its first digital Population and Housing Census in April 2023.

The National Population Commission, NPC had in July 2022 conducted a trial census in six local government area in Nigeria ahead of the 2023 Population and Housing Census (PHC).

The commission has also launched its recruitment of about 2 million ad-hoc staff for the various positions: enumerators, facilitators, Data Quality Managers as earlier published.

NPC has given assurance of its preparedness in conducting the 2023 Population and Housing Census through the deployment of enumerators to their EAs for data collection using a designed database platform called CAPI.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra gave the assurance in Abuja at the National Stakeholders Summit on the 2023 Population and Housing Census organized by NPC in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and equally assured Nigerians of the Commission readiness.
