How Corrupt are Nigerian Leaders

Felix Emuesiri Omoko

Everyone think that only leaders are corrupt in Nigeria. Corruption is not a political act, but an act executable by every human being to thwart people effort and resources for personal interest.

Not every leader in Nigeria is corrupt and leadership cut across all sectors of the economy. The corruption on the street is worse that public corruption.

There is corruption in the following sectors of the economy: banking, religion, politics, civil service commission, ministries and agencies, lawmakers, oil & gas, agricultural and health.

Let us not crucify all public servants as the only corrupt people in the world. The level of tribalism across tribes and religion is worse than corruption itself. No more fairness in our dealings with out partners and colleagues.

Corruption in this context is more of money related, but it is actually destroying the political religious cycle in Nigeria.

Religion and politics are being used as tools for creating unconducive atmosphere.

The statement below is not true in all ramification;

In Japan a corrupt person kills himself. In China, they will kill him. In Europe, they jail him. In Africa, he will present himself for election.
