NPC Announces New Census Date & Enumerators' Training

The National Population Commission, NPC has released a statement stating the issues that delayed census exercise and the new schedule for the 2023 Population and housing Census (PHC) exercise.

The 2023 population and housing census was previously scheduled to take place between April and May 2023, but was postponed due to logistics reasons.

The Commission want to reassures all census functionaries that the 2023 Census exercise will hold as planned.

The NPC leadership is taking a bold step to ensure that the first digital census is conducted within the arm bit of the law and presidential oversight function.

Meanwhile, all census functionaries that are yet to be approved should visit the official recruitment portal for current update or wait until final approval is given to their application.

The new date for the conduct of the 2023 population and housing census is scheduled between July and August 2023; including the training of census functionaries particularly the enumerators and supervisors.

Date: July - August 2023.

According to the Chairman's note, he said, the Commission is taking time appropriate timing to ensure that the electioneering processes of the 2023 General Elections and the incoming government to be sworn-in on May 29 does not intercept the conduct of the exercise.
