DSS now Confirms Emefiele's Arrest for Investigation

The Department of State Services has confirms the arrest of suspended CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele for investigations after denial some hours ago, FOB Report.

DSS previously denied the arrest as posted on their Twitter handle, that Emefiele is not in DSS custody.

After few hours, it was confirmed by them via the the same channel that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele is now in their custody for investigative reasons.

Emefiele was arrested in Lagos, but flown to Abuja for investigations, which led to his suspension.

This statement was released around 2:28pm by Dr. Peter Afunanya, the public relations officer of the Department of State Services.

The statement reads

The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.

The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.
