DSS Charges Emefiele to Court

Following the Federal High Court order issued to the Department of State Services (DSS) for the immediate release of the suspended CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele.

The Department of State Services has charged Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the suspended CBN governor to court on count charges bordering around money laundering and other financial involvements.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu suspended Godwin Emefiele as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria based on investigation on June 9, 2023.

He was subsequently arrested by the Department of State Services on June 10, but no legal proceedings has been issued after DSS's interrogation.

According to the statement released by DSS through it social media handles in compliance to court order, reads in part.

DSS HAS CHARGED EMEFIELE TO COURT

Sequel to an Abuja High Court Order of today, 13th July, 2023, the Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele has been charged to Court in compliance with the Order.
