Elections Tribunal Dismisses APC Petition
The National and State Houses of Assembly Election petition has dismissed the APC petition filed by Abdullahi Kemba challenging the victory of Dahiru Madaki Katuka of the PDP, NTA News.
The statement reads
ELECTIONS PETITION TRIBUNAL RULING ON DUTSE/KIYAWA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY IN JIGAWA STATE
The National and State Houses of Assembly Election petition tribunal sitting in Dutse, Jigawa State has dismissed the petition filed by APC Candidate Ibrahim Abdullahi Kemba for Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency.
In it's ruling presided over by the Chairman of the tribunal Justice Agatha Okeke dismissed the petition following the motion filed on notice by the petitioner to withdraw his petition.
Counsel to the Petitioner Barrister Aliyu Hussain told the court that the Petitioner Ibrahim Abdullahi Kemba of the APC who had served as a lawmaker in the eighth and ninth National Assembly ( House of Representatives) is withdrawing his petition solely in the best interest of the people Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency.
The counsel said in compliance of paragraph 29 of the first schedule of the Electoral act has filed a motion to withdraw his petition challenging the victory of Dahiru Madaki Katuka of the PDP.
While Counsel to the winner of the Election Dahiru Madaki Katuka, Counsel to PDP and Counsel to INEC did not object to the Petitioner's application.
Dahiru Madaki Katuka of the PDP was the person declared by INEC as the winner of the Dutse/Kiyawa Federal Constituency and has since been sworn in in the tenth National Assembly along with his colleagues.
