UK Government has revealed that they were able to retrieved $129 million stolen by Nigerian former governor, James Ibori.

Recall that Chief James Ibori was jailed in 2012 in the United Kingdom for money laundering offences, and was released from prison in 2016.

UK authorities say they may be able to retrieve $129m (£100m) from Nigerian former state governor, James Ibori, according to Reuters.

It’s believed he stole some $165m from the oil-rich Delta state. He was jailed in 2012 for money-laundering offences.

Ibori is currently playing a cordial role with President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, they both served as governors between 1999 and 2007.

Ibori was played a key role in the Nigeria while serving the oil-rich state of Delta state and was later send to prison in 2012 amidst controversial issues during the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan.
