Tinubu Orders Distribution of Five Trucks of Rice to States
Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the distribution of trucks of rice to each state of the federation as palliative to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.
The 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT are to receive five trucks of rice as petrol subsidy removal palliative.
This was contained in a statement released through the director of information in the office of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, on Wednesday.
The Nigeria government has ordered the distribution of five trucks of rice to each state as Palliative to cushion the effect of Fuel Subsidy Removal as President Tinubu earlier ordered a review of paying N8000 monthly to poor and vulnerable Nigerians for a period of six months.
This is part of the N500 billion palliative earlier approved by the Senate in June, but has now been reviewed and reduced to five trucks of rice per state.
Each state government has been given an apple opportunity to share five trucks of rice to its citizens of over five million people on the average, according to the 2022 United Nations population data.
Distribution Ratio
The sharing ratio of the five trucks of rice per state suggest that about 100 persons might be sharing one mudu of rice, if one truck contains one thousand bags across five million people on the average per state.
