WTO Partners Nigeria in Job Creation

The WTO Director General, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has expressed satisfaction in her recent visit to Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu in Abuja, on Tuesday.

President Tinubu met with the Director General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala where they discussed how WTO can support poor and vulnerable Nigerians and job creation.

Recall that Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was two times Finance Minister to two President (Obasanjo and Jonathan) and also served a coordinating minister of the economy under President Goodluck Jonathan.

In 2021, former President Muhammadu Buhari recommended her as the country representative for the position of the Director General of the World Trade Organisation.

In her response, she stated that her meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was very productive as shared on her Twitter handle.

It reads

Really good conversation with  HE Mr President @officialABAT focused  on supporting poor and vulnerable Nigerians at this difficult time. Also discussed the need for Nigerians to work together to build a strong job creating economy including what @wto can do to support!
