The Nigeria government has commenced the online registration of the first phase of the three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) digital training program.

3MTT is a free training program under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy with the aim of training 3 million Nigerians in Digital Skills.

The 3MTT digital training program has two categories: fellows and training providers. Fellows are the trainees while the training providers are the trainees.

The 3MTT is an innovation vision of the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Prof. Bosun Tijani, to train three million Nigerians in digital skills between 2023 and 2025.

It is a three months training program comprising of 12 skills areas where applicants will select their choice of program and be available when selected.

The 12 Parts of the 3MTT Skill Program

1. Software Development
Software development refers to a set of computer science activities dedicated to the process of creating, designing, deploying and supporting software. Software itself is the set of instructions or programs that tell a computer what to do. It is independent of hardware and makes computers programmable.

2. UI/UX Design
UX design focuses on creating a seamless and meaningful user experience by understanding user needs, conducting research, and designing intuitive interfaces, while UI design focuses on the visual, interactive elements of a product to create aesthetically-pleasing interfaces.

3. Data Analysis & Visualisation
Analysis is done using systematic methods to look for trends, groupings, or other relationships between different types of data. Data visualization is the process of putting data into a chart, graph, or other visual format that helps inform analysis and interpretation.

4. Quality Assurance
Quality assurance (QA) is any systematic process of determining whether a product or service meets specified requirements. QA establishes and maintains set requirements for developing or manufacturing reliable products.

5. Product Management
Product management is the business process of planning, developing, launching, and managing a product or service.

6. Data Science
Data science is the study of data to extract meaningful insights for business. It is a multidisciplinary approach that combines principles and practices from the fields of mathematics, statistics, artificial intelligence, and computer engineering to analyze large amounts of data.

7. Animation
Animation is the method that encompasses myriad filmmaking techniques, by which still images are manipulated to create moving images.


8. AI / Machine Learning
Machine learning (ML) is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) focused on building computer systems that learn from data.

9. Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity aims to protect individuals' and organizations' systems, applications, computing devices, sensitive data and financial assets against simple and annoying computer viruses, sophisticated and costly ransomware attacks, and everything in between.

10. Game Development
Game development is a software development process, as a video game is software with art, audio, and gameplay. 

11. Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is on-demand access, via the internet, to computing resources, applications, servers (physical servers and virtual servers), data storage, development tools, networking capabilities, and more, hosted at a remote data center managed by a cloud services provider (or CSP).

12. Dev Ops
DevOps is the combination of cultural philosophies, practices, and tools that increases an organization's ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity: evolving and improving products at a faster pace than organizations using traditional software development and infrastructure management processes.

Note: Applicants can only choose one out of the 12 skills programs outlined above.

3MTT Organiser
The 3MTT will be supervised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) under the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy.

The first phase of the program will commence after selection of the successful applicants. Ensure you provide valid information to avoid disqualification.
