CBN to Freeze Bank Accounts without BVN and NIN, Set Deadline


The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed all account holders in commercial and other licensed financial institutions to update their BVN and NIN to avoid freezing.

The apex bank in Nigeria has set April 2024 to freeze all bank accounts without Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN).

The new CBN governor, Michael Cardoso has given the stern warning to Nigerians operating any form of banking operations without BVN or NIN to quickly update their profile or risk their account been freezed by April next year.

This came as a shock to many Nigerians as people are freely being issued bank accounts for banking services in Nigeria without appropriate requirements and verification process.

Get your BVN and NIN updated to avoid your bank accounts been freezed by the Central Bank of Nigeria, either commercial or micro-finance banks.
