Cement Price Rises to N8,500 in Nigeria

Most Nigerians lose hope of building houses as the price of cement rises to N8,500 per bag as a result of increased in foreign exchange and inflation.

Nigeria inflation is fast increasing as the price of goods rises beyond the control of the government and international organisations, with increased exchange rate of N1,530 per dollar.

The supply of cement by leading companies like Dangote and BUA companies have dropped and merchants in the industries could not cope with the high demand in the market.

The price of cement at some state and cities in Nigeria is more than N8,500 due to the cost of transportation.

Moreso, there is increase in the cost of goods in the international market according to information released by the United Nations World Food Program (wfp), which is now affecting Africa countries, especially Nigeria which has the highest population.
