The Abuja Electricity Distribution company is seeking for suitable qualified applicants for permanent employment into its workforce.

The available positions include operators, cable jointers, linesman, customer relations officer, fitters and engineers with the relevant education qualifications.

  1. Distribution Substation Operator
  2. Cable Jointer: (AEDCCJ)
  3. Customer Relations Officer: (AEDCCRO)
  4. Linesman: (AEDCL)
  5. Electric Fitter: (AEDCEF)
  6. PC & M Engineer (Protection, Control & Metering)

Distribution Substation Operator: Code – AEDCDSO
Be able to perform the following duties and responsibility

Operate and maintain distribution substations to ensure reliable power supply.
Monitor equipment performance and respond promptly to alarms or abnormalities. Coordinate with control centres and field teams to resolve issues effectively.

Demonstrated experience in the respective role within the power industry.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Requirement: OND ELECTRICAL ENG

Cable Jointer: Code – AEDCCJ

  • Perform cable jointing and termination activities for underground and overhead electrical cables.
  • Conduct tests to ensure the integrity and performance of cable connections.
  • Collaborate with teams to execute projects on time and within specifications.
  • Requirement: OND ELECTRICAL ENG

Customer Relations Officer: Code – AEDCCRO

  • Monitoring of all customers on assigned Distribution Transformers (DT)
  • Drive cash collection activities in respect of energy billed.
  • Engage in debt recovery activities in the Region.
  • Prepare schedules for meter reading, conduct accurate meter reading and submission of data to the Billing Unit for appropriate billing.
  • Carry out accurate meter reading, proper inspection of meters and identify cases of Energy theft, bypasses, illegal connections.
  • Prepare daily reports about all inspected costumers and report findings to the Feeder Manager.
  • Preparation of disconnection reports
  • Requirement: OND/HND/B.SC Any discipline

Linesman: Code – AEDCL

  • Safely install, maintain, and repair overhead power lines and associated equipment.
  • Perform pole climbing, rigging, and line stringing activities as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in all tasks.
  • Requirement: TRADE TEST/OND ELECTRICAL ENG

Electric Fitter: Code – AEDCEF

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Requirement: TRADE TEST/OND ELEC ENG/NABTEB

PC & M Engineer (Protection, Control & Metering): Code: AEDCPCM

  1. Design, implement, and maintain protection, control, and metering systems for electrical infrastructure.
  2. Conduct testing and commissioning of protection relays and associated equipment.
  3. Analyze data and provide technical support for system optimization.
  4. Requirement: HND/B.ENG ELECTRICAL ENG
