The Nigeria Police has arrested man, Shuaibu Yeshau for attempted suicide, climbing a broadcast mast in Abuja.

The FCT Command of the Nigeria Police detains man for attempted suicide, climbing a broadcast mast in the FCT Abuja.

The FCT command has detained and sent Shuaibu Yushau to the Social Development Secretariat for mental evaluation, after climbing a broadcast mast.

The Public Relations Officer, Josephine Daniel of the FCT command said, the command have to ascertain the mental status result of Shuaibu Yeshau before charging him to court for attempted suicide.

The Nigeria Police detains man for attempted suicide through a broadcast mast belonging to one of the Tv station in the Federal Capital Territory.

We have sent Shuaibu Yushau, the man who climbed a broadcast mast yesterday to the Social Development Secretariat for mental evaluation.

If found mentally stable after the test, he will be charged to court for attempted suicide, disturbance of public peace and incitement, she said on X.

It is a crime to attempt suicide under normal circumstances and it’s a punishable offence in Nigeria.

Shuaibu Yeshua has been handed over to the Social Development Secretariat for mental evaluation and the outcome of the mental test will determine the action of the force.

He is expected to be charge to court if the mental evaluation result is negative for attempted suicide. It is a punishable offence to attempt suicide. Under no circumstances are human expected to kill themselves.

Although, there are victims of attempted suicide in Nigeria, who are mental stable, yet not charged to court.
